Sweatpants on Sundays

For me, the sweatpants-sweatshirt combo goes together with Sunday like peas and carrots, peanut butter and jelly, chocolate chip cookies and milk... I'm running out of ideas so I'll stop there, but I think you get where I'm going with this! I've always said that Sundays are for sweatpants - not just for the fact that they are extremely comfortable or for the ease in choosing an outfit on ONE day out of the week (definitely bonuses though!)... but for the fact that, for me, Sundays scream simplicity.
For me, Sundays are days for enjoying post-church family breakfast with barely any makeup on, sipping a maple latte at a coffee shop with hair a mess and finding balance between relaxing after the last seven days and getting prepared for the next. And the best way for me to do this is...
you guessed it...
in sweatpants.
It's hard for me to explain in words the sweet simplistic joy that I feel on Sundays. If you enjoy lazy rainy days, walking through the woods, snuggling with your puppy, rooting loyally for your favorite sports team... it's a feeling like that. It's a day to kick back and relax. To replenish your soul with whatever has depleted from it over the course of the previous week so that you are prepared to conquer the week ahead. Most importantly, it is a day to remember to be thankful.
Take some time today - even if it is just for two minutes - and reflect on what you're thankful for; what makes your soul happy.
I am thankful for the air I breathe.
I am thankful for the people who fill my days with happiness.
I am thankful for country music.
I am thankful for the opportunities that allow me to grow personally and professionally.
I am thankful for the food on the table.
I am thankful for the Bath and Body Works' mint chocolate chip candles being only a seasonal item so that I can buy more coffee.
May your week ahead be filled with laughter, happiness and abundant reminders to always cherish the simple things - like the air you breathe...
... and wearing sweatpants on Sundays (or on any day for that matter)!
